Dogs in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany: rules, tax and travel

Mecklenburg-Vorpommern has no general register, chip, insurance or Sachkunde duty for ordinary dogs. Dogs must wear an owner tag or tax tag outside the property and be leashed in listed places.

The HundehVO M-V is a state ordinance; dog tax and stricter leash rules are set by municipalities. Official Landesrecht text could not be opened.

The national rules for Germany apply here too. National rules
