Pet Wiki: Terms of Use
Version 2026-11-03.
The short version. Pet Wiki is made by pet people, not vets. Nothing here is veterinary advice. The website is free to read and has no accounts. Some links are partner links, marked as such: if you buy through one we may earn a commission, and the price you pay is the same.
1. Who we are
Pet Wiki is made and operated by 4V3D OÜ, a company registered in Estonia.
- Registry code: 17515961 (Estonian Business Register)
- VAT number: EE102990461
- Address: Asula tn 5-26, 11312 Tallinn, Estonia
- Email: support@petwiki.app
- Phone: +372 5444 0211
In these terms "we" means 4V3D OÜ. Your agreement is with the company, not with any individual.
2. Using Pet Wiki
The website is free to read and has no accounts. These terms apply whenever you use it. There is nothing to sign and nothing to tick to use it. Anything that involves money, on a partner's site or anywhere else, is for adults aged 18 or over.
3. Not veterinary advice
Nothing on Pet Wiki is veterinary, medical, nutritional, legal or any other professional advice. We are pet people, not vets. For anything about your pet's health, food, behaviour or safety, ask your own vet.
Every animal is different. Age, size, health, allergies, medicines, pregnancy and diet all change what is right for your pet. Our pages cannot know any of that, so they can never replace a vet who has seen your pet. Never start, stop or change a medicine or a treatment because of something you read here, and ask your vet before a big change in what your pet eats. Everyday care, like walks, play and brushing, is yours to decide.
If your pet seems ill, hurt or may have eaten something bad, call your vet or the nearest emergency vet right away. Do not wait for a website.
4. What you find here
- Breed facts. We write them in our own words from the sources listed on each page, and each page says when it was last checked. We try hard to get them right, but they can be incomplete, out of date or wrong. If you spot a mistake, tell us and we will fix it.
- Numbers. Sizes, weights, lifespans, costs, insurance ranges and health figures are typical ranges from the sources named next to them. They are not quotes, not guarantees and not a diagnosis. Your own animal, your town and your insurer will differ.
- Care rhythms. A simple starting plan for a typical healthy adult animal of that kind. It is not a vet's plan for your pet. Follow what your vet tells you.
- Treat recipes. They come from other websites, and each one links to where we found it. We do not cook or test them, and we cannot know what suits your pet. Check every ingredient with your vet first, especially if your pet has allergies, a sensitive stomach, a health condition or a special diet, or is young, old or pregnant. Some foods that are safe for people are dangerous for animals. Treats are only ever a small part of the daily food.
- Quizzes and the breed finder. They are for fun and for a first idea. A result is not an assessment of you or your pet, and no quiz can choose a pet for you: meet the animal, and talk to a shelter, a breeder or a vet first.
- Legal information by country. Where we list breed bans, restrictions or insurance duties, we name the source and the date we checked. Laws change and local rules vary. Check with your own authority before you act on it.
- Links. We link to other websites as sources, for recipes and as partners. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they say, sell or do.
General information cannot take your pet's own situation into account. What you do with your pet is your decision, made with your vet.
5. Partner links
Some links on Pet Wiki go to partners: pet insurers, DNA tests, pet food, gear and shops. Each one is marked "Partner link" next to the link (in German "Anzeige"). If you buy or sign up through a partner link, the partner or its affiliate network may pay us a commission. The price you pay is the same as without the link.
How we handle them:
- We only place a partner link where the product fits the page, below the content, never inside care or health steps.
- We never rank breeds or products by what a partner pays us, and a partner cannot change what a page says about a breed.
- A partner link is a link only. We do not collect your details for any partner, we do not run quote forms, and we do not see what you buy.
- Today the website has no banner ads and no ad network. If that changes, these terms and the privacy page change first.
6. Fair use
You are welcome to read, share links and print pages for your own use. Please do not copy large parts to republish them, scrape the site, or overload it.
7. Keeping it working
We try to keep the website running and correct. It is free, and it comes with no promise that it is always available.
8. Our responsibility
We are liable to you as the law says. That includes loss we cause by breaking these terms or by being careless.
We are not liable for loss that could not have been foreseen when you started using Pet Wiki, or for loss caused by something outside our control that we could not reasonably have avoided or overcome. We are not a party to anything you buy from a partner: that contract is between you and the partner, under the partner's terms.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury, for anything we do deliberately or with gross negligence, or any other liability that the law does not let us limit.
9. Changes to these terms
The version and date at the top change with every edit. If a change matters, we announce it on the website at least 30 days before it takes effect.
10. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Estonia. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts of that country.
If something goes wrong, please write to support@petwiki.app first. We answer a complaint in writing within 15 days. If we cannot sort it out between us, consumers in the EU can take the dispute to an out-of-court body. For us that is the Consumer Disputes Committee at the Estonian Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (Tarbijavaidluste komisjon, ttja.ee).
These terms are written in English and translated. If a translation differs from the English, the meaning that is better for you as a consumer applies.
