Cats in Bayern, Germany: rules and travel

Bavaria has no state-wide dog register, chip, insurance or leash rule for ordinary dogs. Municipalities can restrict large dogs and order leashes locally, and the dog tax is set by each municipality.

Bavaria leaves most rules to municipalities under the Landesstraf- und Verordnungsgesetz; check the local Verordnung and Hundesteuersatzung.
