Dogs in Western Australia, Australia: rules, tax and travel

In Western Australia dogs and cats must be microchipped, sterilised (cats) and registered with the local council. Registration fees are set by the state and are lower for sterilised animals.

Registration and fees are set statewide in WA, but local governments enforce them and set dog limits, exercise areas and local laws.

The national rules for Australia apply here too. National rules
